Lyme Academy to Host National Sculpture Society Conference in 2026
The National Sculpture Society has selected Lyme Academy as its host venue for the 2026 National Sculpture Celebration and Annual Conference. This 3-day event will bring hundreds of sculptors, educators, and collectors to our campus. The annual conference is open to the public and features panel discussions, demonstrations, studio tours, and an awards presentation. Lyme Academy’s Charlotte Colby Danly Sculpture Chair Chad Fisher notes, “As Lyme Academy commemorates its 50th Anniversary, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for hosting the National Sculpture Society for their 2026 Conference. Following the vision of our founder, Elizabeth Gordon Chandler, the Academy is thrilled to join forces with NSS in advancing education and promoting excellence in the field of Fine Art Sculpture.” We share Chad’s enthusiasm and hope to see you there!
The National Sculpture Society promotes excellence in sculpture that is inspired by the natural world. In 1893, founding members – including Daniel Chester French, Augustus St. Gaudens, Stanford White and J.Q.A. Ward – established the Society to “spread the knowledge of good sculpture.” For more than 130 years, National Sculpture Society members have created, exhibited, collected and supported the evolving tradition in American sculpture. The National Sculpture Society continues to support sculpture today as an active, vital, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
