The Academy’s intimate campus and inspiring facilities are located in the historic maritime village of Old Lyme, situated along a pristine stretch of Connecticut shoreline on the Boston/New York City/Washington corridor. We are two-hours from New York City and Boston by car or train, with world-class museums and emerging urban arts communities under an hour away in New Haven and Hartford. Come experience this friendly, supportive, and safe environment, near to everything and yet a world apart!

By Train: From New York
Take Metro-North and connect to Shore Line East (New Haven to Old Saybrook). Limited bus service runs from Old Saybrook Transit Station to Old Lyme via River Valley Transit (formerly 9 Town Transit). The bus runs Monday through Friday and stops at the Old Lyme Marketplace, 90 Halls Road. From this stop, walk .7 miles east on Halls Road. Turn RIGHT at the light onto Lyme Street, under the I-95 overpass. Enter the Lyme Academy campus via the second driveway on Lyme Street, marked as South Parking Lot. Follow the sidewalk to the Welcome Center, located inside de Gerenday’s Fine Art Materials & Curiosities.

By Car: Traveling on I-95 South from Mystic or Rhode Island
Take EXIT 70; at the bottom of the exit ramp, turn LEFT onto Lyme Street. When you reach the South Parking Lot, furthest from the highway passover and indicated by a sign, park in any appropriate spot. Parking is free; please note that there is no attendant on site.

By Car: Traveling on I-95 North from New Haven
After the bridge, merge right to take EXIT 70. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn LEFT at the light onto Route 156. Turn RIGHT at the second traffic light onto Halls Road. Take Halls Road to the end. At the end, take a RIGHT at the light onto Lyme Street. Ample free parking is available in the South Parking Lot (furthest from the highway overpass and indicated by a sign). Please note that there is no attendant on site.

By Car: Coming from Hartford
Take I-91 South to Route 9 South. Follow Route 9 to the end. Take I-95 North and follow the directions above.
