Our Open Studio Figure and Portrait Drawing sessions provide a valuable opportunity for artists of all skill levels to work from a live model in a structured studio environment. A monitor is present to set the poses, keep time, and ensure a prompt start. Easels, stools, and drawing horses are available for use. Attendees are responsible for bringing their own art supplies. Please note: Figure model sessions feature nude male and female models; models will be clothed for portrait sessions.

General Public = $20 per session.
Continuing Education students and Academy alumni = $10 per session
High school students = Free
Drop-ins may pay online or at the Academy’s art shop, de Gerenday’s Fine Art Materials and Curiosities, and show receipt to monitor. Cash is no longer accepted.
Punch cards are now available; purchase a single-session or ten-session card to get your 11th session free!
Fall sessions will be held in the Cole Studio. Please use the south parking lot for closest access.

Are you interested in capturing a person’s likeness? Artists will have the opportunity to develop finished drawings and paintings over the course of 5 to 6 sessions with the same live model. This focused period will allow artists to develop their technical abilities, as well as to better understand the poetry of physiognomy and the human condition. We will rotate male and female models over the term. Open to all levels.
