Snow Day Policy: If a weekday class is canceled due to weather, one make-up class will be scheduled during the week of March 16–20. CE classes are allotted one make-up day per term.

Grounded in the Academic studio tradition, this foundational course emphasizes direct observation and structured technique. Students will draw from a clothed portrait model, progressing through a carefully designed sequence of exercises that build visual accuracy and develop a strategic, confident approach to translating what they see onto the page. Small class sizes allow for in-studio demonstrations and personalized instruction.
