Figure Modeling

Location: Chandler Studio
This workshop provides students with the methods and techniques required to create a figurative sculpture. In particular, the instructor will teach “deep modeling,” a technique that derives from Grafley, Chapu and more. Students will learn the structural forms that make up a male and female figure. This includes noting differences in body types, discovering how gender, age, and ethnicity affect proportion, and identifying universal structures through the process of abstraction. Demonstrations and individual critiques are provided.
