This class will focus on developing paintings from a live model, with an added emphasis on incorporating the figure into an environment. Pose lengths will vary throughout the week, beginning with one-day color studies and moving into a longer pose.

As paintings progress throughout the week, additional strategies will be introduced to refine the initial stages of a color block-in while pursuing a more resolved pictorial statement. In particular, conceptual frameworks such as perspective, color theory, and the orientation of planar relationships to light will be discussed.

This class will consist of demonstrations and lectures, as well as individual one-on-one critiques as participants develop their own works.

Please note that registration for this workshop is non-refundable and does not include supplies or materials; please see the Terms and Conditions for details before making the final purchase.
