Lyme Academy is pleased to welcome Heather Personett to its Core Sculpture faculty. An exceptional figurative sculptor, Personett earned her MFA in Sculpture from the New York Academy of Art in 2014 and studied stone carving through the ABCStone Carrara Stone Carving Residency in Italy. Personett built a career as a portrait sculptor at Studio EIS in Brooklyn, contributing her expertise to numerous artists and projects across New York City. Currently leading the sculpture program at Grand Central Atelier and teaching at the New York Academy of Art, she will relocate to Old Lyme, Connecticut this fall, bringing her deep knowledge, passion, and masterful craftsmanship to the Academy’s Core Sculpture Program. Charlotte Colby Danly Sculpture Chair Chad Fisher acknowledges the significance of Personett’s addition to the faculty: “Heather is a true poet, and her work pulsates with life. Her extraordinary sculptures are soulful and speak silently with the songs from the heart. She is a remarkable addition to Lyme Academy and her teaching experience, paired with her poetic work, offers Lyme Academy students the amazing opportunity to be mentored by some of the most exceptional figurative sculptors of our time.”
