Levels/Ages: This workshop is open to all levels and ages 18+ (or younger with instructor permission).
This workshop covers the important balance between drawing what we know and drawing what we see. Whatever the length of a pose, the action is paramount to the drawing’s success. To quote Jean Dominique Ingres, “Movement is the life of the drawing.” Beyond the gesture, the long pose will give the artist opportunities to explore ways of creating the third dimension as a preparation to modeling form with both line and value.
The instructor will present material through demonstrations and historical references.
