Lyme Academy faculty members are constantly adding accolades and experiences to their resumes. We could not be prouder of them. Below are just a few of their recent accomplishments:

Artistic Director Jordan Sokol and Co-Artistic Director Amaya Gurpide were invited to exhibit at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. This prestigious event will open on May 8th.

On March 29th, at Snug Harbor Little League in Staten Island, Sculpture Director Chad Fisher unveiled his commissioned 8-foot bronze honoring former MLB pitcher and Port Authority officer Anthony Varvaro. This will serve as a lasting tribute to Varvaro’s service and legacy in both baseball and the Staten Island community.

David Baird and Thomas LaPine are finalists in the New Salem Museum and Academy of Fine Arts International Painting Competition.

David Baird’s solo exhibition at Steven Francis Fine Art gallery in Virginia closed recently, to glowing reviews.

Ethan Martin and Thomas LaPine won the first and third prizes at the From Life portrait painting competition. Student Jude Dutton took second place.

Todd Casey is currently working on two new books, one focusing on color and the other on direct methods for painting.

Emily Weeks was recently invited to present at the Salon du dessin in Paris. Her lecture,“‘Travel Art’ or Images of Home? Reconsidering John Frederick Lewis’s Egyptian Drawings,” will be published later this year.
