Going Beyond Theory of Color to Application
Instructor: West Fraser
September 27 – October 1, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
There is a way of making a painting an “object of art” not a picture. Building on the principles of art and color theory based on a chromatic scale, learn what hues are underneath what you see by understanding the emotive qualities of hue and relative-temperature relationships that evoke a reality for the viewer. Explore how to use contrast of hue vs contrast of value in creating a sense of light. I will encourage the intuitive decision making and bold steps that make your mark making your artistic personality.
Prerequisite: Foundation and Intermediate Courses or permission of the instructor
