Memento Vivere Opening
In commemoration of its rebirth and re-opening this fall, the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts invites you to a cocktail fundraiser to coincide with the opening of its inaugural exhibition, Memento Vivere. Curated by Artistic Directors Amaya Gurpide and Jordan Sokol, the exhibition features more than 20 works by internationally-acclaimed artists, each of which represents a progressive vision of the figurative tradition and brings continued life to a historical framework. The vigor of these pieces and the optimism with which the Academy moves forward exemplify the exhibition’s Latin title – Remember to Live – and serve as reminders of the resilience of life and the importance of celebrating it through art.
Works in this exhibition will be available for purchase, with 40% of all proceeds benefiting the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts.
All guests are required to be fully vaccinated to attend our October 16th fundraiser.
In addition, we are taking measures to increase the airflow and ventilation throughout the event spaces with open windows and doors and adding fans where possible. There will be outdoor seating available for guests. Consistent with public health guidelines for spaces limited to vaccinated guests, masks will not be mandatory but will be available for guests to use at their discretion. We will be closely monitoring the State of Connecticut and Local Covid-19 Guidelines. If it is determined that the event needs to be canceled, you will be notified, and the ticket price will be fully refunded or donated to support student scholarships at your request.
